Harnessed energy chain
Connecting cables individually not only takes time, but is also prone to errors. This is why igus has developed the Module Connect interface concept, with which energy chains can be easily plugged together. To connect the connector to the energy chain, the user can now use an individual adapter. The energy chain thus becomes an interface that saves 80 per cent of the installation time. The design and functionality of the adapter also convinced the jury of the German Design Award 2021.
It guides cables safely at a defined bend radius and even withstands shocks and impacts: the e-loop. The energy chain system is specifically designed for hanging applications, such as in deep drilling rigs and is already replacing service loops worldwide. In order to offer users a complete ready-to-connect system from a single source that operates safely even in extreme application scenarios, such as in explosion zones, igus now offers its energy chains with special connectors and cables as tested readychains.
Sunshine, adrenaline, riding fun: more and more families are attracted to popular amusement parks, particularly in the summer months. Water rides are highly sought after especially when temperatures rise, including “Power Splash” from Mack Rides of Waldkirch. In order for the passengers to be able to get in and out safely, the developers of the water ride built a pivoting gate that placed special demands on the energy supply. igus provided the right solution with a rotary module.
