3D-printing

Extremely abrasion and wear resistant tribo-polymers for additive manufacturing by laser sintering (SLS) or with the aid of filament (FDM/FFF), enable the rapid production of prototypes and small volumes.

Ball bearings

xiros® polymer ball bearings require no external lubrication, are corrosion-resistant (when using glass or polymer) and operate extremely quietly. This makes them a cost-effective alternative to metal ball bearings. Made of a tribopolymer blend of solid plastic components, they are lightweight, resistant to chemicals and non-magnetic.

Bar stock

iglidur semi-finished polymer products enable the cost-effective production of components and profiles in motion. Perfectly suitable for individual products or prototypes. Plates, round and hollow rods made of a variety of different iglidur high-performance polymers are available from stock. Each material becomes a specialist for specific applications, such as a particularly low coefficient of friction or high temperatures, due to its properties.

Cables

A wide range of cable types with different jacket materials ensures high reliability in energy chains. The more than 1300 chainflex cables from igus defy various applications, with enormous speeds and accelerations, long travels and the most extreme environmental influences. Drive technology

drylin® drive technology offers lubricant-free linear axes, which are driven either with trapezoidal thread, steep thread or toothed belt. From lightweight all-polymer units to solid stainless steel solutions; igus offers the user suitable solutions for his individual application. In all systems, the stroke length is freely selectable, and the drive can be realised via handwheel or motors.

e-chains

igus cable management systems are reliably in use today in numerous applications worldwide – from the food industry to offshore plants. Energy chains made of polymer have been developed, produced and tested by igus since 1971. Thanks to intensive research and extensive testing under real conditions in the industry’s largest test laboratory, igus guarantees a long service life for the cable management systems.

Lead screw technology

drylin® lead screw technology as well as dryspin® technology is based on the principle of lubricant-free linear technology. The properties and geometries of drylin® lead screw technology and dryspin® technology, which are matched to the polymer nut and spindle, guarantee an even higher service life and efficiency.
Trapezoidal threads, steep threads and metric threads are available from stock in more than 5,000 variants in the standard programme.

Linear technology

The lubrication-free drylin linear systems run dry and are therefore maintenance-free and insensitive to external influences. Due to the materials used and the special design, they also run particularly quietly. The service life can be easily calculated online in just a few steps. With the personal selection of high-quality individual parts, each linear system can be adapted to individual requirements.

Plain bearings

With their tribological characteristics, the polymer plain bearings from igus meet the highest requirements for long service life without additional lubrication. In order to achieve this quality, we carry out over 135 trillion test movements annually in our 250m² plain bearing test laboratory. igus tests and develops materials and plain bearings under real conditions with the aim of supplying the best polymer solution for the individual moving application. 

Self-aligning bearings

igubal self-aligning bearings are maintenance-free, self-aligning bearing elements made completely of iglidur polymer. Depending on the material selection, the operation is possible up to +200°C. Furthermore, the entire igubal joint system is insensitive to dust and dirt and resistant to corrosion. Use in liquid media is also no obstacle due to the lubricant-free application.
