igus has developed a new logistics solution for its special energy chain cables. With the chainflex CASE, the user directly saves several times over, because instead of delivery by a courier, the cable now comes by parcel service in a secure stackable box. This significantly reduces both shipping and storage costs. The cable can be unreeled straight from the box and cut to the desired length. A QR code on the chainflex CASE ensures that the cable can be re-ordered quickly.
The E4Q energy chain series was developed by igus to achieve the best possible solution for unsupported and long travels. In the process, shapes inspired by nature ensure very low weight, while a unique tool-free opening concept reduces installation time by 40 per cent. The E4Q has now received the renowned German Design Award for this pioneering design.
Just relax on the lake or glide completely carefree through the lagoon, all this is made possible by the electrically assisted “Ceclo”. To ensure that the ride remains very smooth for a long time, the French manufacturer of the same name now installs polymer plain bearings from igus instead of metallic ball bearings in their e-pedal boats. As a result, the lubrication-free and maintenance-free rotation of the propeller reduces maintenance costs and also meets strict environmental regulations.
Plastic and heavy loads? This time igus proves that the combination works with a new lead screw nut design. The injection-moulded dryspin JGRM polymer nut offers a cost-effective alternative to ball screw nuts. The new lubrication-free and wear-resistant design can move heavy loads. For higher axial loads, the new lead screw nut is also available with a stainless steel plate as a “Heavy Duty version”.
The more than 70 submissions to the ROIBOT Award 2020 make it clear that entry into automation can be achieved easily and cost-effectively. This year, in addition to the expert jury, for the first time the public also has the chance to vote for their personal favourite. At www.roibot.de you can find many innovative examples of how Low Cost Automation from igus can be used profitably: from Bathroom mirror cabinet with sound system up to the automated “Chocomatic” praline dispenser.
