This is why igus has developed the Module Connect interface concept, with which energy chains can be easily plugged together. To connect the connector to the energy chain, the user can now use an individual adapter. The energy chain thus becomes an interface that saves 80 per cent of the installation time. The design and functionality of the adapter also convinced the jury of the German Design Award 2021.

What they have in common is the extraordinary use of high-performance plastics in bearing technology with which they won the 2019 manus award. A joint initiative, which the plastics specialist igus announces every two years, is now looking for unique applications with plastic plain bearings. The winner will receive prize money of up to 5,000 euros. To mark the tenth anniversary of the manus award, the jury is offering a sustainability prize.
igus has developed a new logistics solution for its special energy chain cables. With the chainflex CASE, the user directly saves several times over, because instead of delivery by a courier, the cable now comes by parcel service in a secure stackable box. This significantly reduces both shipping and storage costs. The cable can be unreeled straight from the box and cut to the desired length. A QR code on the chainflex CASE ensures that the cable can be re-ordered quickly.
The E4Q energy chain series was developed by igus to achieve the best possible solution for unsupported and long travels. In the process, shapes inspired by nature ensure very low weight, while a unique tool-free opening concept reduces installation time by 40 per cent. The E4Q has now received the renowned German Design Award for this pioneering design.
