Cologne, Teesside, October 2023 – Plastic waste is not incinerated, but turned back into oil in 30 minutes – using only pressure, heat and water: this revolutionary HydroPRS™ recycling is now being launched on a commercial scale for the first time. The British company Mura Technology is now starting to commission the world’s first plant – with the support of investor igus. A significant step towards an environmentally friendly and resource-saving recycling economy for plastics.
Laboratory equipment, espresso machines, tiny houses: wherever installation space is scarce and components are difficult to reach, designers are looking for space-saving and maintenance-free linear guides for adjustment and positioning tasks. igus is therefore adding new miniature linear guides in Installation Size 06 to its drylin W series. They are not only compact but also lubrication-free.
Injection-moulded from regranulated high-performance plastic and therefore very cost-effective and sustainable, the new polymer carriages from the igus drylin econ series make adjustment and positioning tasks simple. They cost less than 20% of what their milled aluminium counterparts do. Thanks to movable bearings, they can even handle cornering on curved aluminium rails without any problems.
Plastic is a valuable resource. Not a gramme should be lost. That’s why igus produces regranulate for the iglidur ECO plain bearing series from sprue and defective injection-moulded parts. New to the range and on display at the Motek 2023 trade show in Stuttgart: the iglidur ECO P210, a chemical-resistant version.
Calling engineers from all over the world: the igus vector award is entering its next round. For the ninth time, igus is honouring design engineers and project managers for creative, courageous use of energy supply systems and cables made of high-performance plastic. Winners will receive prize money of up to €5,000.
